In 2014, Deacon Kevin Moore founded the Bridgeport Chapter of Off The Streets, dedicated to housing the homeless in Fairfield County, Connecticut. OTS Bridgeport is one of six such chapters across the United States whose mission it is to take the homeless Off The Streets and into apartments. Through the years, Kevin partnered with social service providers, philanthropic sponsors, and community leaders seeking their support. He often met with our homeless clients to help move furniture and household items into their new apartments. Kevin was dedicated to helping the needy settle into a home of their own. He treasured the work of securing affordable, safe, and secure dwellings for those experiencing homelessness. His untiring efforts, quiet manner, genuine concern, and ready smile reassured both clients and staff up until his unfortunate passing in June 2019.
In honor of Kevin’s vision of working to end homelessness, OTS Bridgeport is pleased to announce the establishment of the Kevin Moore Founder’s Memorial Fund (click to donate). This fund represents a special opportunity to pay tribute to Kevin’s goal of giving back hope to the less fortunate in Greater Fairfield County community.
Our goal for the Memorial Fund is to build an investment portfolio of sufficient magnitude so that the earnings will provide sustaining revenue to support our mission of placing those experiencing homelessness into apartments.
